Mark Freeman

Co-Chair

Retired from the nuclear power industry, Mark has been maned "Man of the Year" and "Silent Hero of the Wiregrass" for his commitment to others and service of Christ in light of cancer. Today he serves as co-chair and supports education in our community through the DEF and mentorships.

Trip Whatley

Co-Chair

Trip  is the President at Holman-Whatley & Associates. He joined the firm in 2004 and became a partner in January of 2005. Trip is an active member of the Westgate Church of Christ. He works closely with student tutoring and supporting educators in the Wiregrass area through DEF.

Delvick McKay

Member At Large

Former president of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce and Delvick currently serves as the human resources director for the City of Dothan and as pastor for the Greater Shiloh MBC of Headland, AL. He is  committed to developing others to become the light of the world for Christ.

Jennie Lee

Secretary

Jennie is a professional educator in early education. She is also a parent and is active in our community to support not only students, but educators in the profession.

David Crutchfield

Board of Directors

Currently serves as a Dothan City Commissioner for District 6. David not only has had children in the education system, but also a wife who is a retired primary educator. He understands the support needed inside the classroom and out.

Neil Martin

Board of Directors

Experienced complex manager with a demonstrated history of working in the food production industry. Currently works with Wayne Farms in the Wiregrass area whose company has been a tremendous advocate for education and their workforce's community.

Judge Rose Evans-Gordon 

Emeritus

Currently is a municipal judge for the City of Dothan. She is a graduate of Fisk University and Tulane Law School. Before her current appointment, Evans-Gordon served as an assistant attorney general for the State of Alabama for 13 years.

    Kandy Groover, Past Chair

    Still serves as special council when needed for strategy and advice. Kandy has been one of the largest fundraisers for the DEF and has a passion for education. 

    Tom Ziegenfelder, Past Chair

    Since the beginning of the organization's founding, Tom has been active with education and seeing the DEF be successful. We thank him for his long service.

    Since 1995, we have been working together with partners in our community to provide teachers with resources and connecting the community to education. Today, were supporting under- resourced communities with supplies to not only boost morale within the classroom, but to also help improve the quality of instruction within public schools in the Wiregrass area. The Dothan Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity recognized by the IRS.
